DOES STRETCHING BEFORE TRAINING HELP PREVENT INJURIES?
Published by: Evox Fitness Concept in Workout
There is often a misunderstanding about stretching before training. More important than stretching is to perform a good warm-up to prevent injuries.
Before training, static stretching - where a person stands still in one position for a few seconds, stretching one muscle group - acts negatively on muscles and tendons and can cause injury. It should be saved for after the workout.
The best way to warm up a muscle is through active movement. So, before exercise, you should warm up with functional and dynamic movement-based stretching, such as arm balances or light trotting.
