The importance of exercise and physical activity?
The World Health Organization states that it is scientifically proven that the regular practice of physical activity is the main method of prevention of several diseases, contributing to a better physical and psychological well-being and contributing to a greater longevity and quality of life.
Several pathologies such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension can be prevented and/or controlled with regular physical activity, adequate physical exercise and properly monitored by professionals.
Physical exercise can act as prevention, control and, in some cases, also as a cure and recovery.However, according to WHO (2020), global estimates indicate that 1 in 4 adults and 81% of adolescents, do not practice enough physical activity.
It is estimated that, associated with these rates, between 4 and 5 million deaths peryear can be prevented if the global population were more physically active.The practice of physical exercise can be performed in any space, whether in gyms, outdoors or at home.
Maintaining a physically active life has numerous benefits, whether at any age, it is important to keep the body in motion, always suitable for the individual in question.
Thus, the regular practice of physical exercise and maintaining a physically active lifestyle, must be habits acquired by all those who acquire their health asa priority.
