Proprioceptive training: what does it consist of?

Proprioception is our unconscious ability to feel, interpret and interact with the movement and position of one or more joints in space.

That is, it is the capacity that our body has to adapt to different postures, based on the receptors that we have in muscles, joints and tendons.

By developing our proprioception we improve our body awareness, balance and posture. Which in turn facilitates the execution of any movement and makes the activity more efficient, in addition to reducing the incidence of joint injuries.

Regarding proprioceptive training exercises:

• They are performed on unstable surfaces, such as a bosu, a trx, a fitball, among others;

• The use of external loads is not recommended, as they are complex exercises in which movement instability already exists;

• They are used a lot in recoveries from injuries.

Start to carry out this type of training with the supervision of our professionals!

Good training!
